EMBRACE THE WILDERNESS OF PATAGONIA
At a latitude of 55°S, you are literally at the end of the world. This far south, the weather changes rapidly. Feel the force of the Patagonian wind as you trek over rocky mountain passes. Seek shelter in the pristine lenga forests. Each day promises you a different perspective of the jagged peaks of the Dientes de Navarino mountain range.

ITINERARY
​
This expedition is for the trekker who is looking to explore the spectacular landscape of Tierra Del Fuego off the beaten path. This is a very dynamic trail with a variety of terrain to challenge even the most seasoned hikers.

DAY 1: PUERTO WILLIAMS
​
We'll meet at Punta Arenas airport for our morning flight to Puerto Williams, the southernmost city in Chile. In the afternoon, we will visit the Omora Ethnobotanical Park, before gathering for our trek briefing.

DAY 2: LAGUNA SALTO
The first part of the hike will take us up Bandera Hill, crossing an old forest and above the tree line before reaching the summit where hikers will have the best views of Tierra del Fuego island, the Beagle Channel, Puerto Williams and Ushuaia. This is also where we will have the first views of the Dientes de Navarino mountain range before arriving at camp.

DAY 3: MONTE BETTINELLI
We will be crossing the Dientes de Navarino mountain range from its northern side, across three different passes to arrive at its southern side – Paso Primero, Paso Australia and Paso de los Dientes. Hikers will have their first views of Cape Horn as well. We will take a detour from the main trail and head south towards the forest. There will be an optional walk to the top of Mt. Bettinelli, where hikers can enjoy unobstructed views of the Dientes de Navarino, its lagoons, the Wollaston Islands and Cape Horn.

DAY 4: LAGUNA MARTILLO
Today’s hike will take us along several lagoons, across old glacial valleys, into the forest before climbing above the tree line of Paso Ventarron and Paso Guerrico. These are windy passes with open views towards the western side of the island. This will be one of the more demanding days because of the diverse environments we will encounter.

DAY 5: LOS GUANACOS
After crossing a couple of valleys, we will begin our hike uphill to arrive at Paso Virginia, the highest point of the route. It is a great summit where we will have the chance to see the entire Dientes de Navarino mountain range and all the way to Beagle Channel and Tierra del Fuego island. We will then hike down from the pass to our last camp near the Laguna Los Guanacos.

DAY 6: PUERTO WILLIAMS
On the last morning of the hike, the trail will take us towards the north of Navarino Island and towards sea level. We will cross into farmland as we descend from the mountain, where the car will pick us up and transfer us back to Puerto Williams for lunch and a well-deserved afternoon off!

DAY 7: PUNTA ARENAS

GOOD TO KNOW

As we will be trekking through wild Patagonian terrain, there will be days where there will be no network connectivity, most days spent camping and the ever-changing weather conditions in the mountains may result in alterations to the programme,

You will need to carry your own backpack, which should contain all the personal gear and sleeping bag you would require during the five days on the trail. We recommend that the weight of this backpack does not exceed 10kg (22lb),

Our porters will be carrying the camp equipment (e.g. tents, cooking utensils, gas) and food required for the entire trek, and
-
At least 10% of our profits are donated to community projects in Chile, with a focus on children's education.
